Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy

What Is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural yet altered state of mind with numerous beneficial characteristics.  Hypnosis is a skill that improves with practice.  Hypnosis is a scientifically verified way to efficiently improve the  quality of our daily thoughts.

The word "hypnosis" comes from "Hypnos", the name of the Greek god of sleep.

You can learn about and experience the tremendous benefits of hypnosis in Sevierville with John Braat, Certified Medical Support Clinical Hypnosis Practitioner.

How Does Hypnosis Work?

A hypnotic induction combined with deepening techniques help soften the critical thinker. The critical thinking part of us is often formed at a young age without adult wisdom and maturity.  Therefore, many things that we might think about ourselves could be long outdated and based on outdated childhood thinking.  After the critical filter is softened, suggestions are given to the client, guiding them to focus on positive input and their desired outcome.  This “rewires” their thinking and subsequent behavior which becomes automatically driven by the subconscious mind after the hypnosis session is over.  The old thinking patterns are updated with new information, with the wisdom and intellect of our sensible adult reasoning mind.

Hypnotherapy is an educational and self-improvement process that facilitates access to internal resources that assist people in solving problems, increasing motivation, or altering behavioral patterns to create positive change.  Hypnotherapy is not a substitute for medical treatment or psychotherapy.  John does not practice medicine or psychotherapy and his services are not a replacement for counseling, psychotherapy, psychiatric or medical treatment.  No service or product provided is intended to diagnose or treat any disease or illness, psychological or mental health condition.

What Would You Do If You Knew You Could?

The quality of your experience of life directly corresponds to the quality of thoughts held in your mind.

“The mind is your creative intelligence.  Your mind is your most powerful resource.  If you don’t believe you can have it all, you get to choose how much less than all you get” – Harvey Cohen

Stress is Normal

Stress is a protective mechanism.  However, irrational chronic stress is a leading cause of disease.

According to The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), 60% to 80% of primary care visits may have a stress related component while only 3% of office visits included stress management counseling by primary care physicians.  In a related article, it is estimated that "approximately 40 million American adults suffer from anxiety."

Studies show that stress can be reduced by activating the parasympathetic nervous system for 20-40 minutes daily using visualization hypnosis.

Introduction to Hypnosis and Self-Hypnosis Workshop

Relax and enjoy life.  Think and act with a positive mental attitude.  Engage your “optimistic self” auto-pilot switch now using self-hypnosis.

Hypnosis provides the ability to relax the inner chatter-box, sweep out mind clutter, and focus on positive input and desired outcomes.

Through hypnosis, self-hypnosis and hypnotherapy, we tap into our subconscious mind, that great power within us through which our experience of the outer world is created.  Thomas Edison regularly used self-hypnosis to gain insights while working on patents.

In John's introduction to self-hypnosis class you will access and develop your ability to bypass your disbelieving inner doubter and direct your subconscious mind to achieve more of what you want in life.

Hypnosis is a natural skill that we all have.  The more we use it the more powerful it becomes.
